Our approach to privacy
Life Settlements Funds Limited (Life Settlements Funds) recognises the importance of the privacy of individuals who have dealings with Life Settlements Funds. As such, we have developed our own privacy principles which embody the National Privacy Principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act).
What does "personal information" mean?
Personal information is any information about you that identifies you or by which your identity can reasonably be determined.
What information do we collect and why do we collect it?
Personal information that Life Settlements Funds may hold includes the following:

• Date of birth
• Employment, income and financial details
• Bank accounts and credit reference details
• Details of the products and services provided to an individual by Life Settlements Funds.
Life Settlements Funds will collect personal information from you in order to process an application, administer an investment, provide services related to an investment (including administrative tasks related to the management of your investment) and comply with statutory laws and regulations.
Unless you ask us not to, we may also use the information about you to—
• identify other products which may be of interest to you and provide you with information about those products
• maintain an ongoing relationship with you
• conduct market research, or
• conduct surveys on investor satisfaction
How we collect personal information?
Life Settlements Funds collects personal information directly from an individual where reasonable and practical. Life Settlements Funds may also collect personal information from other sources including—
• other entities who provide services to Life Settlements Funds related to the products and services provided to an individual by Life Settlements Funds
• credit providers and credit reporting agencies (only if a credit application is made)
• publicly available sources of information
• an individual's representative (including spouse, accountant, financial advisor, or other professional advisor).
Do we disclose your personal information to anyone?
We will only disclose your personal information to a third party with your consent, or where we are otherwise entitled or required to do so. Third parities we may disclose personal information to include; your financial planner, the custodian, auditors, regulatory bodies and external contractors who provide data backup and restoration.
How do we protect your information and ensure it is accurate?
We aim to ensure that the personal information we retain is accurate, complete and current. To assist us with this, we will give you the opportunity to advise us if any of your details have changed. If you have any concerns about the completeness or accuracy of the information held about you we will take the necessary steps to correct it.
We use security procedures to protect all personal information we hold. Access to and the use of personal information is appropriately limited to prevent misuse or unlawful disclosure of the information.
Can you access the personal information we hold about you?
You can gain full access to the personal information that we hold about you, unless there is some legal or administrative reason to deny access, in which case we will provide you with the reason for denial.

If you believe that we have not protected your personal information as set out in the Privacy Statement, you may lodge a complaint with us by phone, fax or email. You may use the Complaint Form available on our website or upon request (although please note use of the Complaint Form is not compulsory).
